Rita was gunned down on Sept. 25th of 2010 and still her killer is allowed to walk the streets without being charged by the D.A. Amazingly enough the office looking into the crime, the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department, still hasn't turned the results of its investigation over to the D.A.
The problem seems to stem from the fact that the apparent shooter was an off-duty Sheriff's detective named Kari Abbey.
Abbey went to the Elias home that night on "personal business" got into an extended argument with Elias. Abbey alleged that Elias pulled a BB gun on her despite having the knowledge that Abbey carried her hand gun with her when off duty.
How can the Sheriff's office investigate one of its own?
What better way to ensure a cover-up?
