Here is what we've heard regarding Doug Parsons who was charged with driving with a blood alcohol level two and a half times the legal limit.
Now you would expect him to be at home on sick leave but this officer who's never been a detective for a minute is "working clod cases for the MPD. Is he saving his sick time up to spike his retirement?
The good ol' boy system is alive and well here at MPD.Guess who showed up for work in my division this week. TA DA....It was none other than the king of good ol' boys..Todd Parsons.
You all remember Todd don't you? He was the cop who after a binge drinking session with the Mayor's nephew drove his car off the cliff at Lakewood and Scenica couple of months ago. His blood alcohol was 0.20 per cent and the DA charged him with DUI right before Christmas. When's the last time you saw a cop working from a wheel chair with both legs immobilized in casts?
Well, join the club because none of us has ever seen that either and I've been here for 17 plus years. His buddy Sgt. Kathleen Blom has given him a job(again!!) in her unit working cold case homicide files. How does that work when he can't even walk?
Heck, he can't even go to the bathroom without help. We all presume that he lobbied the higher ups for this(was the Mayor involved??) so he doesn't have to use his sick leave.
This is a new low at MPD and the worst kind of favoritism. Meanwhile we have another officer, Mario G., who was arrested for DUI by the CHP a few weeks ago and he was immediately placed on admin. leave. I guess he was not admitted into the good ol' boy club. Can someone explain this madness to me?0.20 percent and the DA charged him with a DUI right before Christmas.
Don't forget that Todd has to show up on Jan. 12th as a prosecution witness.
What I do know it that MPD Chief Mike Hardin and City Manager Gregg Nyhoff better be ready to respond to tough questions regarding favoritism and the wisdom of having someone almost incapacitated in the squad room. at the next city council Meeting.
