People of Stanislaus Lose...Kamilos gets his Extension thanks to Chiesa

By Emerson Drake
3/8/11

Kamilos wandered in the wilderness for four years, while trying to advance his other failed projects and still Chiesa, O'Brien, and Monteith voted to allow him another fifteen months to get his act together and convince the Board of Supervisors he has a viable plan to move forward with. It was almost understandable that O'Brien and Montieth would try to justify their earlier decision to vastly expand the West Park project.

In for a penny in for a pound.Supervisors De Martini and Withrow explained to the audience how everyone on the Board was for creating new jobs, but they didn't believe Kamilos was the developer with a plan that would actually work.Maybe it was the Work Force Alliance representatives threatening any Supervisors re-election plans if they voted against the project.

After all, the Work Force Alliance put $55,000.00 in their own pockets after helping Patterson Frozen Foods to game state regulations.

Maybe it was the private meetings the Supervisors took with Kamilos that changed their minds, like it might have done after Kamilos used $28,500.00 of his own money(political donation) to help get Jeff Grover re-elected to the BoS.Remember they'll (the gang of three) have given Kamilos 63 months to come up with a PLAN not jobs, but just a plan. Will Kamilos become distracted with another pie in the sky development project like he was with the Sacramento Kings Arena?

In the meantime, while the Kings are looking around the state for a better place to play, hopefully the jobs that Kamilos and now Chiesa, O'Brien, and Montieth have promised aren't looking elsewhere too.
