Convicted of Drunk Driving, MPD Officer Todd Parsons Gets a Deal from the District Attorney

Officer Todd Parsons, who didn't even bother to appear in court today (probably trying to dodge the cameras) pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge today in Modesto.

Parsons admitted through his attorney he was driving with a blood alcohol level two and a half times above the legal limit when he crashed his car by driving down an embankment. After seventeen years as a MPD officer you would think he would know better. He also pleaded no contest to a charge of driving with an open container.

Parsons will participate in a work release program instead of serving his seven day sentence.Despite the fact he has two broken legs in casts, and his jaw is still wired shut, he's been working at the MPD headquarters as we reported before.

His good buddy down at the MPD has allowed him to "work" cold case files from his wheelchair.Should a convicted drunk driver be allowed to drive city cars?

Private industry wouldn't allow it.

Did the DA lie in another case two weeks ago when he claimed Parson wasn't getting paid?I thought that is what sick time is for?

I keep forgetting, they save that up to spike their retirements.
