"I Don't Need to Investigate, I know My Officers"

By Emerson Drake
5/5/11

These were Sheriff Adam Christianson's words when sexual harassment charges were filed against a member of his department.

They rang in our ears after he absolved Kari Abbey of any wrong doing just 7 days after she shot and killed Rita Elias. But that was October 1st of 2010 and now he says he's embarrassed by Abbey's actions.

He almost got away with the blanket cover-up.

It wasn't until someone other than the Sheriff's Office (surprise surprise) an investigator in the D.A.'s office, started to look deeper into the statements from on the scene witnesses, that the cover-up started to fall apart.

Everything the Sheriff says should be suspect.

He controlled the internal investigation which had gone a long way to absolving Kari Abbey of any wrong doing.Read more here tomorrow on the Kari Abbey case, because we're going to suggest who is going to fall on their sword, where the illegal weapons came from, how Abbey was able to work her second job on county time and how sweet of a deal the District Attorney might make in order to keep all of the Sheriff Department's dirty laundry from being put on display to the world.
