Not if the call involves any of their friends. During the investigation of Rita Elias' death by Kari Abbey the D.A.'s investigator discovered an alarming story.
While Kari Abbey was performing an illegal eviction, which was business as usual for her before she Killed Rita Elias, Abbey's husband, Bennie Taylor a former Hayward police officer, performed what has since been described as a beat down during one of their many illegal evictions.
When the victim called the police witnesses said the Modesto police officer who responded to the call seemed familiar with Abbey, hugging her and shaking Taylor's hand.
Please understand this fact isn't disputed by the responding MPD officer.
'
The officer claimed that to him it looked like a mutual combat (Taylor's knuckles to the victims face) and let Taylor go.What was Modesto Police Chief Mike Harden's response to the incident?
Police Chief Mike Harden said he looked into the matter after reading the affidavit, and pulled the officer's report of the incident. He said it appeared the call was handled properly."Clearly (the officer) knows her. I don't find that peculiar," Harden said. "I've looked at the criminal investigation the officer completed … at first blush, it looks like it's a pretty detailed, comprehensive investigation."
A detailed report substitutes for justice?
That seems to be the trend down at the good old boys MPD since the CALEA accreditation.Did anyone see the city manager Gregg Nyhoff weigh in? Or did the city council even open their mouths to defend the citizens of Modesto?
How about any of the candidates running for office?
Are they more concerned about getting the MPOA endorsement than they are for Justice?
In our eyes anyone who maintains their silence is part of the problem and not part of the solution.
