Are the Sheriff and the Stanislaus Sworn Deputies Colluding?

By Emerson Drake

After a closer reading of the Grand Jury findings it becomes obvious that the SSDA also known as the Stanislaus Sworn Deputies Association are working together to keep the Civil Grand Jury from finding out the sordid details of what was going on back in 2009 and 2010.

Summary Section of the report
A copy of the non-binding Cease and Desist letter indicates a "fax" and United States
Postal Service mail date of January 19, 2010. The letter was "faxed" and mailed to the
general address for the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department. Requests to the SSDA
and their law firm regarding the mailing process and physical receipt of the letter went
unanswered.

Back in 2010 when the Voice of Modesto obtained a copy of this letter, we asked the attorney for the SSDA to confirm the letter. The response we received was that we weren't the intended recipients of the letter so they wouldn't make an official declaration to us. They requested we destroy the letter/evidence.

Not only did VoM receive a copy of this letter but so did the Modesto Bee which refused to comment in print, but persons employed there did admit to receiving a copy of the letter.
The SSDA which was the same union that investigated the Kari Abbey(a fellow union member) killing of Rita Elias and which absolved her of blame, which worked until an investigator from the D.A.'s office got involved.

Between Adam Christianson and the SSDA how can citizens of Stanislaus County expect to receive justice.

We have been treated to how the MPD will intervene for Modestans, they won't and as long as Chief Harden sees a well written report he can point to. Unfortunately we can expect nothing more from them.

Our city politicians stay quiet worrying more about the MPOA Modest Police Officers Association's endorsement.

WE need to tell our elected representatives this situation is no longer acceptable.
The full Grand Jury report is in the prior article so take the time to read it. Don't let the Sheriff get away with lying to us any longer.

Here in Modesto we have a mayoral and a city council race ongoing and if our elected politicians won't help us then we need new ones who will.
