It's plain to see that Sheriff Christianson and Chief Harden have more things in common than we realized, their love of toys.
These two leaders have cried for more money than a child seeking a higher allowance and true to form when they get the money they squander it.
The Stanislaus County Drug enforcement agency comes up with money from its assent forfeiture program for gas and maintenance and all of a sudden extra men are lying around at both of their offices. Yes, the Sheriff is supplying three pilots and two tactical flight officers and the Chief is supplying two from our under-manned and over-burdened staff.
Did they mislead us about the need for more officers on the street or is having an air force to play with more important?
As we've said all along, its not how much money we give them to spend, but how wisely they spend it.
