On December 6th at the MPD accreditation hearing for public input Modesto Police Chief Mike Harden responded to critisim by out strident out spoken voters who were demanding to be heard by reading a statement which declared that if they kept on using language he didn't like ( language critical of the MPD spoken in a loud voice) that he would HAVE THEM ARRESTED.
As he read from his prepared statement he alleged they were a public nuisance and disturbing the peace and that he had more than enough officers available there to haul them all away to jail.Now the Bee's Judy Sly was there and even took a few pictures of them but at this point in time has remained silent.
The Bee's sphincter of news Dave Lyghtle seems to have declared Chief Hardin's threat to have voters arrested who were there to testify, non-news.
This team (two people) who came to see just how the MPD handled themselves under pressure must have received an eye full.But since Modesto's paid their fee to the accrediation committee of two, well they'll probably receive the piece of paper they so dearly covet.Whether they deserve it on not.

Eric Johnston, Your Defense of the Bee's Actions was Laughable

Laughable in a very sick way.
So in your mind $60,000 in problems deserves a front page above the fold picture with an accompaning story (yet your intrepid reporter didn't get Jeremiah's business address correct.) Yet $54,000 dollars in problems belongs buried on the back page with no pictures that mentions all of the rest of the candidates.
Where was Joan Clendenin's picture?
No where to be seen.
Yet the Bee calls this even handed responsible coverageIt's time for people to recognize the Bee for its biased content.
Your a bunch of wanna be king makers who have stayed around long past your time. Your "candidates" have damaged Modesto immeasurably from the the County Board to the, City Council and MID.
Your "go along to get along" style is costing us more money with every day that passes.
The entire Editorial Board of the Bee should take the buyout if it's still being offered before the people of Modesto show you the door.
We just can't afford your bad decisions and poor choices any more.
