was politics as usual in Modesto Thursday when Joe Muratore, Brad Hawn, and Dave Lopez unanimously agreed on Stephanie Burnside.Stephanie Burnside was Olsen's hand picked successor for the council opening.
The candidates were asked difficult questions like, "What is your favorite holiday?" and "How do you feel about cars being parked on lawns?"
Was the decision made weeks ago? Many there said "of course."
Joe Muratore said he was there to get a feel for working next to the candidates on the council.
No concern was expressed as to how the voters might feel.
After all we didn't get a say in the process.
We congratulate the winner, and our condolences go out to Brandon Mello and the rest of the 13 original candidates.
The committee's decision will be announced and voted upon by the entire council next Tuesday at the City Council meeting
