Will the Modesto City Council finally be forced to Demand an investigation from MPD Chief Mike Harden?City Manager Greg Nyhoff leaves it to council.
Last night on Chan. 3 news ( 10 p.m. Chan. 58) there was a follow up report saying that the Bee received a letter from an anonymous source confirming beatings, saying that the practice continues and either naming officers who participated or confirming names that appeared in the first letter.
City Manager Nyhoff was quoted as saying that this is a matter of concern and it is up to the C. Council to decided how it should be handled.
Then the announcer stated that Nyhoff was calling for an independent investigation of the dept.; yet there is nothing in today's Bee about this. Have you seen reports elsewhere?
