The Modesto Irrigation District board on Tuesday hired consultants to look more closely into the defective work.
In May, directors received a list showing 125 defects in the project.At Tuesday's board meeting, project manager Greg Dias told of other construction flaws discovered more recently by MID staff and consultants.
Modesto resident Emerson Drake urged the district board to disclose more information about problems with the project. He worried that officials would pass the cost of redoing the work to city water customers.
