This afternoon members of the Sworn Deputies Association were picketing 1010 10th Street. They were complaining about up coming cutbacks to Sheriff's office personnel.
During the staged protest it was learned that for several days the non-emergency phone answers had been telling callers they weren't going to be able to respond to their calls and to call the Board of Supervisors if they wanted help.
All of this BEFORE specific budget cuts have been suggested or approved.Is it legal for them to refuse to respond to calls because they're mad about budget cuts?
Sheriff Adam Christianson was on channel 3 yesterday complaining about the need to make the cutbacks, but he was without an answer as to how to pay for services without having the money into the budget to do so.
Is the Sheriff behind the latest version of the Blue Flu?Is this his plan to apply pressure on the Board?Will it work?
